Moat is holding an open day at the brand new show home at Bridge House in Croydon, Surrey on Monday 14 June between 10am and 3pm. The event will celebrate the launch of the Surrey Street development’s selection of contemporary, urban apartments. Moat is helping first time buyers get their hands on one of these high quality homes for just £40,000 for a 25% share of a one bedroom apartment!

Bridge House is located on Surrey Street, close to the historic Surrey Street Market in the centre of Croydon. The development is named after the pedestrian foot bridge linking the block of apartments to Croydon High Street and Grants Centre, where residents can access leisure facilities and restaurants. Bridge House boasts on site communal cycle store facilities and is only a five minute walk from Church Street tram stop and only a ten minute walk from both East and West Croydon railway stations. In the future, Bridge House itself will include a public piazza, shops and restaurants.

All of the homes are available on a New Build HomeBuy basis (also known as part buy / part rent or shared ownership). This government funded initiative helps first time buyers to purchase from as little as a 25% share in a home, and purchase the remainder at a later stage. Moat’s homes at Bridge House comprise 25 x one bedroom and 2 x two bedroom apartments.

Local residents and sisters, Zoe and Hannah Collins, found their new home in Croydon, thanks to Moat. They were renting privately in Purley, Surrey when they heard about Moat’s Harvey Court development in nearby South Croydon. They purchased 25% of a 210,000 two bedroom apartment in December 2009.

Zoe says; “We love the security of knowing that we have our own place. When you’re renting, you never know if you’re going to get chucked out and you don’t get anything back out of the money you pay to your landlord. Now we’re paying a mortgage but we come home to our new place every night and know that its ours. The whole process can seem a bit confusing when you first look into it, but everyone at Moat was understanding, thoughtful and helpful and I would recommend New Build HomeBuy to anyone. We never felt under any pressure and everyone in the team knew their stuff. We’ve been able to invest in our future and it’s all thanks to Moat and New Build HomeBuy.”

Attendance at this open day is by appointment only. To book an appointment, please contact Moat’s sales and marketing senior officer, Antoinette Gifford, on 0845 359 6481 or at Antoinette.gifford@moat.co.uk.
