In these difficult financial times, making your money go further is important. Combined with knowledge of how to make a healthy and satisfying meal for the family is a recipe for success.

A group of residents have been "Cooking up a Storm" as part of Community Gateway Associations training and development programme.

After a successful "taster" session last year, the course has become a regular feature on the organisations extensive training list.

The group learned "cooking on a budget" principles, cooked a fantastic lunch and made a meal that they could take home and share with their families

Gill Lawson took part on the course commented, "The course was fantastic, I learned a lot about making simple, healthy meals that don’t cost a lot to produce. I can make them in advance so I can plan the family’s meals for the week. It made me realise how I can budget better and hopefully save some money"
