Residents enjoyed a day to remember at Frome Court in Tonbridge organised by Invicta Telecare in celebration of the sheltered housing scheme’s 25th anniversary.

Invicta Telecare manages 11 sheltered housing schemes owned by Russet, including Frome Court, providing a range of support to vulnerable and elderly people across Tonbridge and Malling. Both organisations are part of Circle Anglia - one of the UK’s leading providers of affordable housing.

Family and friends joined residents of all ages to enjoy the festivities including the oldest resident aged 95 and one couple Charlie and Margaret Wright who have lived at the scheme since it opened 25 years ago.

Invicta Telecare’s scheme manager, Sherrie Macklin, who organised the event said: “The residents were involved throughout and helped with the preparations for the event. They wanted to have something to commemorate the Anniversary so it was put to the vote and the most popular suggestion was a bird bath and ornaments which now take pride of place in the pretty communal garden. We also bought pens with 25th Anniversary printed on it and one Chinese resident painted a sign in Chinese and another in Spanish giving the day real a multi-cultural atmosphere.”

Sherrie continued: “Helping people to remain in their own homes and live independently is at the heart of everything we do. I believe that by encouraging residents to get involved in events and activities like today is a great way to give them an active say in the way we deliver our service, and of course it helps them to keep active and live life to the full. The afternoon was voted a huge success and provided an ideal opportunity for families and friends to enjoy a great afternoon together.”
