Market Deeping-based builders’ merchant The Deepings Trading Company (www.deepingstrading.co.uk) has appointed an account manager to look after its ‘heavy side’ civil and landscaping product portfolio.

Ken Burdock (34) joins Deeping Trading from Peterborough-based builders’ merchant EH Smith where he worked as a salesman of landscaping and civil engineering products for five years. Prior to that Ken ran his own landscaping business.

As well as extensive trade experience Ken holds formal qualifications in both construction engineering (BTec) and civil engineering (HND). His key responsibilities will be driving business development. He will also manage Deepings Trading’s key accounts.

Ken said: “I am very pleased to be joining the team at Deepings Trading and I look forward to working with them to continue providing the best possible service to the local building trade.”

Deepings Trading operations director Ian Greenfield added: “We are delighted that Ken has joined us. He brings with him a wealth of experience gained from his educational background and over ten years working in the trade. Ken is already a valuable member of our team and will drive forward the Deepings Trading brand enabling us to ensure a high quality service and commitment to the construction trade throughout the region including Lincolnshire, Rutland, Cambridgeshire and Nottinghamshire.”

Ken is something of a ‘petrol head’ and is keen on cars and motorbikes. He also owns a river cruiser on which he takes his son Connor out for weekend runs on the local waterways.
