Brent Housing Partnership (BHP) has received the honour of being named in the Sunday Times 75 Best Places to Work in the Public Sector list.

BHP was placed at number 33. This year the prestigious list has been derived from entries of 207 organisations. In total over 45,000 employee opinions have been surveyed, and an evaluation of each organisation’s key statistics, processes and policies has been carried out.

Staff surveyed at BHP felt that they could make a difference in Brent and a real contribution to the success of the organisation. 75% of staff stated that they loved their jobs and are excited about the future, and leadership at the ALMO was rated very highly.

About 30 hours of formal training is provided each year at BHP in areas such as management and equality and diversity policy. Staff also felt that the experience they gain from their job will be valuable in the future and that training is of great benefit. They also felt that there are substantial opportunities to learn and grow.

Jonathan Austin, Founder & CEO, Best Companies Ltd said: “On behalf of Best Companies Limited, the name behind The Sunday Times Best Places to Work in the Public Sector lists, I am delighted that Brent Housing Partnership has achieved a place on this year’s list. All organisations on the list should be truly proud that your employees and colleagues recognise you as a ‘Best Place to Work’”.

Gerry Doherty, Chief Executive of BHP, said: “We are very proud of being named in this prestigious list. There is an extremely talented workforce at BHP and they have all contributed to making BHP successful and an excellent place to work in.”

BHP also achieved a “One To Watch” status in the 2010 Best Companies to Work For Accrediation. This year, 1,086 organisations entered the Best Companies Accreditation. From these companies Best Companies received survey responses from over 257,513 employees since September 2009. Overall, 410 organisations achieved Star Status accreditation this year, and 363 organisations including BHP achieved One To Watch Status.
