Residents Handover £1000 cheque to St Cuthberts Church Residents Handover £1000 cheque to St Cuthberts Church

More from Community Gateway Association

North East Ashton Residents Association (NEARA) based in Preston, have come along way in the last four years, this could not have been possible without the support offered by their local church.

St Cuthbert’s Church has provided the group with a base to hold meetings and a room to host their very popular kids club for local children since the group started.

The church has never asked for any money during this time, when the group heard the church was starting a campaign to renovate the building that they use they wanted to help.

Community Gateway Association gives funding to groups via its support to groups policy, the money is for activities that allow the group to operate; one of those areas is for sourcing a place to meet.

At the groups latest meeting they decided to surprise church leaders by presenting them with a cheque for £1000 to help them with the renovations.

Bill Thompson, Treasurer commented, “St Cuthbert’s have been very supportive of the NEARA group by allowing us to use their fantastic facilities, we wanted to thank them for their kind generosity”
