Leca Insulation Fill by Weber is the fast and economical way to insulate floors in new build and refurbishment projects. Literally laid in the bag, placed side by side, Leca Insulation Fill cuts foundation time by hours, is simple and safe for operatives to use and with a U-value of 0.22 W/m²k at a depth of 300mm complies with the new Part L Building Regulations.

“Leca Insulation Fill will save hours of time, hard labour and cost when creating foundations for extensions, conservatories, garages, driveways and patios,” says James Mead, Product Manager, Weber. “The 50 litre bags weigh just 15kg making them easily portable and well within the H&SE recommendations for a single-man lift.” Leca Insulation Fill can be used for lightweight foundation with or without the benefit of insulation properties.

It takes just three simple steps to a new floor with Leca Insulation Fill: Step 1 – lay loose fill to level the site and lay bags of Leca Insulation Fill on top, side by side; Step 2 – fill in any spaces with more loose fill; Step 3 – lay a 1200 gauge damp proof membrane to complete the oversite, then lay the concrete slab or Weber levelling compound.

Using Leca Insulation Fill eliminates the cost of equipment and secondary polystyrene; reduces the environmental impact of heavy delivery vehicles to site and massively reduces labour costs.

“Leca Insulation Fill makes conventional methods look archaic,” says James, “and in refurbishment situations disruption to residents is minimal by comparison. It takes two operatives one hour to prepare a 40m² base compared to two days with three operatives using hardcore and polystyrene insulation to do the same job. Now which would you choose?”

For deeper foundations the Leca Insulation Fill can be blown directly into the void from a vehicle up to 50m away and is certified for depths up to 3m and up to 400mm without necessary compaction.

The first national distributor to stock Leca is Jewson and Minster.
