More from Moat

Now there are even more ways to get a foot on the property ladder at Waterstone Park thanks to Moat’s ‘try before you buy’ initiative! Moat is offering the opportunity to rent a home at approximately 20% lower rents than on the private market. At a later stage, buyers can own their home on a ‘part buy / part rent’ basis.

There are 3 x one bedroom apartments available to rent for only £560 per month. The offer is ideal for people who are in a good position to purchase a home on a ‘part buy / part rent’ basis now but wish to wait in order to save towards a larger mortgage deposit. Interested applicants must meet Moat’s existing eligibility criteria for these homes which include ensuring that the income used to rent a home can be used to acquire a mortgage at a later stage.

New homes at Waterstone Park offer fitted kitchens with oven, hob and hood, modern appliances, carpets throughout and allocated parking as standard. This makes them ideal for any first time buyer currently priced out of the housing market. The homes have been designed and built by Countryside Properties and are still available to buy from as little as 25% through Moat’s ‘part buy / part rent’ scheme. This means that you can purchase your own home from just £33,125.

Waterstone Park is set in seven acres of parkland, including the medieval Stone Castle and the development features tree lined avenues and networks of footpaths and cycle ways. There are a number of dedicated play areas for children and thousands of trees and shrubs have been planted to form a woodland habitat.

The development is in a great location for transport links which offer easy access to surrounding towns in the Thames Gateway and beyond. The nearby railway stations of Greenhithe and Stone Crossing offer direct train services to London, with journey times from just 40 minutes. Ebbsfleet International station is two miles away and provides high speed rail links to London St Pancras in less than 20 minutes and Paris in just two hours. With the M25 less than five miles away, Waterstone Park offers unrivalled road links. The new Fastrack bus system, which has priority over general traffic, gives commuters rapid access to locations between Dartford and Gravesend.

I remember seeing an offer like this before, not sure if it was Moat. It's a good idea if the rental part of the deal is at a good price but 20% below private rental in the area sounds promising. It just depends whether that is based on an average of all areas or picking the higher end rentals to work from.
