A young man died after tumbling from scaffolding and being hit
by some bricks.
Justin Gillman, 26, suffered the fatal fall at a building site in
Skegness, Lincolnshire Police said.
The building contractor, from Holland Fen, Lincoln, is understood
to have been wheeling a barrow full of bricks along the
scaffolding, about six to eight feet above the ground, when he
fell.
It is thought he died after the bricks came crashing down on top of
him at the Warth Lane site just after 12.30pm on Friday.
David Newton, managing director of Chestnut Homes, the company
building on the site, said: "Our thoughts are with his family and
his partner.
"We are assisting the Health and Safety Executive (HSE) with their
inquiries."
It was the first such accident to occur on a site operated by the
house-building company, he added.
An inquest was opened yesterday and adjourned while a report into
the circumstances of Mr Gillman's death is compiled, a police
spokesman said.
An HSE spokeswoman said: "We are aware of the incident and are
assisting Lincolnshire Police."
