More from Stockport Homes

Stockport Homes have recently re-launched their website www.stockporthomes.org and given it a brand new modern look after consultation with customers and staff. The website is packed with information about all Stockport Homes’ services and enables customers to:

• check their rent balance on-line;
• watch one of the 10 information films about Stockport Homes’ services;
• share their comments with other customers on the Discussion Forum;
• find the answers to customers frequently asked questions without the need to pick up the phone;
• find out the latest Stockport Homes events in the ‘What’s on’ events calendar; and
• complete more forms on-line than ever before!

The website includes quick links from the homepage to key services identified by customers. These ‘quick links’ will help customers go directly to services most important to them including applying for housing, paying rent, reporting Anti-Social Behaviour (ASB), reporting a repair, searching for jobs, making complaints, what’s on calendar and getting involved.

The website has been designed to be as accessible as possible and includes options for customers to translate the website into over 40 languages, to have the website read aloud to them via Browsealoud and to change the colours and size of the text.

One of Stockport Homes’ customers commented about the new website, “As a partially sighted person I found the text was a readable size, and the whole website was nice and bright. The links seem to cover most services, and is a very bright new site.”

Sandra Coleing, Director of Quality said, “The new website makes it easier for customers to access the information they require 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. Customers can access information at their convenience and it reduces the need for them to phone or visit Stockport Homes’ offices. Information is available to customers at the click on a mouse.”
