Network Housing Group has announced the appointment of its new
chair, management consultant Andy Watson. He has taken up the
position following twelve years on the board of group member
Riversmead Housing Association, where latterly he also served as
its chair.
Andy said: "I’m delighted to have taken up the role. Network
has grown in many positive ways in recent years and, with a new
strategic plan and the appointment of Tom Titherington as chief
executive, we are on the threshold of a new era.
“An important priority for me will be to further enhance the performance of Network’s board. Good governance is a key criterion for success, never more so then when we operate in an environment of rapid change and challenge. I’m committed to ensuring that the board is equipped to lead in this way,” he said.
Andy Watson is a consultant at RSM Tenon PLC and has 20 years’ experience working with housing associations and government departments, amongst others, to improve their strategic planning, delivery and governance.
Tom Titherington said: “Andy is dynamic and, with his fresh perspective, his appointment is positive for us in many ways. We hope to see many opportunities for growth and change emerge in the next few years and Andy’s wise counsel, coupled with his outstanding business experience, will ensure that we make the best of those opportunities.”
