More from Mumford & Wood Ltd

Mumford & Wood, the UK’s leading specialist period timber window manufacturer, has achieved not one but two Awards this week acknowledging the company’s premium quality timber and its period design capacity.

A Top Product Award made by Professional Housebuilder & Property Developer for an article on engineered, laminated timber used in the construction of these bespoke products was elected by readers as one of the most popular pieces in the magazine during 2009. The process of engineered timber results in a stronger, more durable and stable raw material which contributes substantially towards reduced maintenance schedules, keeping the window looking better for longer and achieving greater performance.

Home Building & Renovating Magazine, the UK’s leading self-build and renovation title who launched a new multi-category Award initiative in 2009, has independently voted Mumford & Wood the outright winner in the Conservation and Renovation category. A typical replica Georgian curve-top sliding sash timber window will be displayed at the National Homebuilding & Renovating Show, NEC, March 2010, in the Awards Showcase area.

“Period sliding sashes, casements, French doorsets and entrance doors in our traditional Conservation™ range are continually being acknowledged for their authentic design and high performance,” says Stuart Judge, Commercial Director. “They are almost indistinguishable from originals and their aesthetics are enhanced with our advanced manufacturing processes which increase thermal efficiency while making them good to look at in the preservation of the built environment.”

Mumford & Wood’s Conservation™ products are BFRC energy rated, A – C depending on specification, and carry the BSI Kitemark, Energy Saving Trust and Secure by Design accreditations.
