Tommy Taylor hands his cheque to appeal organiser Hannah Ferguson.
A local councillor was so impressed by a company’s efforts to
raise money for Haiti earthquake victims he has boosted the cash
total by £100.
When county councillor Tommy Taylor, from Coundon, read that staff
at Dale & Valley Homes had organised a dress down day and cake
sale to raise money for earthquake victims he was determined to add
more than his five penneth.
Coun. Taylor said: “I saw what they were doing in the paper
and wanted to give something myself. As a founder board member of
the company I thought I would give my money in with
theirs.”
With Coun. Taylor’s donation the amount raised for the
charity totalled £361.34.
