A classic VW camper van will soon be touring Wear Valley as part of a huge two month consultation to set standards for local services.
The van tour is only one way customers can meet staff from Dale & Valley Homes and help develop new standards for things as varied as tenant involvement and financial viability.
Clair Ord, customer involvement manager for Dale & Valley Homes, said: “Two years ago the Tenant Services Authority was formed to regulate social housing in England. It introduced a set of national standards for services provided by organisations such as Dale & Valley Homes.
“As part of those national standards we also have to agree a set of local standards which strengthen the national standards and adapt them to local needs.
“We wanted to have some fun with this so we will be touring with the VW camper, collecting ideas and opinions from customers all over the area.”
The van tour is the third stage of the consultation, which begins on March 2 with a series of focus groups and is followed by a number of market stalls where people can drop by for a chat while they are doing their shopping.
Anyone who wants to be involved in the consultation or who wants to talk about anything to do with the TSA standards should contact Clair Ord on 01388 770972.
