A Wear Valley company is celebrating an outstanding endorsement of its organisation from Investors in People.
Dale & Valley Homes Achieved the Investors in People award this month after a visit from the inspector in December.
The award investigates the company’s commitment to continuous development and improvement at all levels.
In the report the inspector praised the company’s culture and the commitment of staff.
Robert MacLeod, managing director of Investors in People, said: “Your recognition is a tribute to the sustained effort and determination of your organisation and signals its dedication to continuous improvement.”
In the report the inspector added: “There is a great atmosphere within the organisation and the staff have an extremely positive attitude and came across as very dedicated and committed people who want to deliver the very best service for the customers.”
“There is a no-blame culture and one in which trust is bestowed upon people which, consequently, helps them feel informed and involved.
“The clear strategic direction is a real strength to the organisation and provides a real sense of purpose for everyone. Staff are all very clear about their own roles and how that reflect the organisation’s success.”
Chief Executive Peter Chaffer was delighted to receive such a positive report.
He said: “We have worked very hard to create a company identity since Dale & Valley Homes was formed in 2006.
“Most of our staff moved over from the council and have had to adapt to the new organisation.
“This report shows how successfully that has happened, how we have created a committed and motivated team and how this is improving our service to customers.
“Our staff are our best asset and they should be proud of the things that have been said about them.”
