Herefordshire Housing has welcomed Rebecca Whittaker to its Board of Management.

Rebecca won the recent election for the position of Resident Board Member. The election allows residents to vote for the candidate who they feel would bring most to the housing association’s Board of Management.

Herefordshire Housing is run by the Board of Management, which provides direction in setting policies and makes sure that the association maintains financial stability, efficiency and good practice. The ultimate responsibility of the company lies with the Board.

New Board Member Rebecca has a degree in law and has a number of year’s experience of working in housing having previously worked for Herefordshire Council’s Housing Department, Herefordshire Housing’s Lettings Team and Birmingham City Council’s Homeless Team. Since becoming a Herefordshire Housing resident Rebecca has been working closely with the housing association to help to improve services to residents.

Rebecca said, “Over the past year I have become a trained Resident Inspector, finding out what experience people have of services and working with Herefordshire Housing to achieve improvements.

I am passionate about all Herefordshire Housing homes and communities being the best that is possible”.
