Managers at Riverside turned a corner in training, to celebrate the successful completion of a new management development programme, at the social landlord’s head office in Speke.

Three hundred and fifty one managers attended the Cornerstone management training programme, developed by Riverside to improve leadership across the whole organisation.

The national programme, which began in 2008, covered leadership, team working, performance management, absence management and time management. Managers attended three workshop modules over five days.

Chief Executive, Deborah Shackleton, who presented certificates to staff said: “Cornerstone has been very well received by everyone who has taken part in the training. In our business, which is large and widespread, it’s vital that we take a consistent approach to management. Highly developed and motivated staff are best placed to deliver first rate services for our tenants – which lies at the heart of all our work.”

The Institute of Leadership and Management accredits the Cornerstone programme, which is endorsed by the Chartered Institute of Housing. Riverside is developing further management training, with a suite of individual courses to build on the skills learned on Cornerstone.
