Residents of Old Harlow have voted for Harlow Young Carers Group to receive a £100 community grant. The grant has been donated by the MODE partnership who have plans to develop the old Faircroft site in Station Road, Old Harlow and build 43 new homes. As a ‘thank you’ for attending planning exhibitions, residents were given the chance to nominate and vote for local community groups in need of support.

Helen Kenny, Caring For Harlow Carers, says; “It was a lovely surprise to hear about the grant. Our project supports young carers between the ages of eight and 18 whose lives are restricted in some way due to their caring role at home. This donation will go towards funding a trip for the children to go to the cinema.”

Caroline Field, MODE partnership, says; “Nearly 80 people have come to our exhibitions in Old Harlow and we’ve had useful feedback which has helped us to improve our design proposals. We’re delighted to provide this grant to a local group as a token of thanks for the community’s help.”

MODE is a partnership of Moat, Denne Construction and PRP Architects. MODE are working with Harlow Renaissance on plans to develop a number of sites across Harlow.
