It is a great start to the New Year for housing and regeneration business Contour Housing Group. The company has been approved by the Homes & Communities Agency Academy to be part of its Place Making Recognition scheme for its Very Philosophical programme.

The Place Making Recognition scheme is usually awarded to academic institutions and Ross Hemmings Regeneration Investment Officer for Contour Housing Group is delighted that Contour’s unique philosophy scheme which works to unite people, places and communities has reached the standard required.

“The community investment team here are thrilled that Very Philosophical has Homes and Communities Agency approval,” said Ross. “Contour has been developing philosophy within local communities for some time and our success saw us develop the Very Philosophical brand in 2009. We are now encouraging other housing associations, social enterprises and community groups to share our knowledge and best practice by attending our courses which have been given the seal of approval by this recognition.”

The Homes and Community Agency Academy said: ‘Very Philosophical offers place making professionals the opportunity to enhance their capacity to facilitate dialogue and problem solving through leadership of a community of enquiry. The programme has the ability to be used in a wide range of place making situations and in summary it is making a worthy contribution to the place making agenda.’
