The Leyland Eagles motorcycle club are riding out for the South Ribble Women’s Refuge this Saturday (December 12).
The Eagles adopted the Refuge as their chosen charity for 2009. They have held many fundraising events, including a rock night, as well as collecting at various bikers’ events.
They plan to leave the British Legion, School Lane, Leyland, at 12noon, and process to Morrison's car park where they will stop for about 30 minutes, then onto Tesco's car park, again for about 30 minutes.
They will return to the Legion at approximately 2pm to present members of the Refuge team with a cheque, and gifts, for women and children staying at the Refuge over the Christmas period.
The bikers will all be sporting fancy dress with one of the trikes turned into Santa's sled.
Refuge Manager, Liz Stanton, said: “The Leyland Eagles
have been magnificent in their fundraising efforts for us
throughout the past year. They have gone to lots of effort and have
already made over £1,000 on our behalf as well as purchasing
many gifts for the women and their children for Christmas
