A leading Surrey based green energy installer has won three high profile contracts in the social housing sector.
Isoenergy is one of the UK’s top three renewable energy product installers. The Horley based firm has won a £1.2m contract with the giant housing developer Bellway Homes, another five figure contract with the prominent housing developer Osborne Homes and a third contract with Monaghan Developments in Crawley.
The Bellway Homes contract will see Isoenergy install green energy equipment in more than 300 new build apartments and homes in the London boroughs of Lambeth and Bermondsey for the well-known housing association Family Mosaic. Meanwhile the Osborne Homes deal will see it install green products in seven new build properties in Charlton again for Family Mosaic. The third contract with Monaghan Developments sees Isoenergy installing green energy heating systems in 20 new flats in East Grinstead in West Sussex for the Affinity Sutton housing association.
Isoenergy managing director Justin Broadbent said the firm, which has grown its staff to 20 this year, is determined to grow its market share in the social housing sector.
“We are absolutely delighted to win these big contracts in the teeth of the recession,” he said.
“Isoenergy is continuing to grow and expand and the social housing sector is a key market. We feel it is a good fit for us. We are one of the oldest green energy installers in Britain and have a depth of knowledge and experience to draw on. This level of expertise is critical for the social housing industry as it is under such massive pressure to go green and do it to the highest standard. And the reality is that going green to this level is complex. But this is where we can make a difference. On all three of these deals we are taking the green energy headache out of the job for the developer and the housing association. We are advising at the design stage on how to make the project as green friendly as possible. We are then commissioning the equipment, installing it and managing the entire project.”
Mr Broadbent said Isoenergy is providing advanced specialist knowledge to the developers to help them meet the correct code for sustainable homes (see notes to editors) building standard including codes, 3, 4 and 5.
“In these developments we are supplying a mix of state of the art products including renewable energy heat pumps to generate heat and hot water, solar panels and heat recovery and ventilation equipment,” he said. “All three contracts are terrific projects to work on which deploy all our skills and expertise to ensure they are as green friendly as possible and that they provide excellent value for investment.”
Mr Broadbent pointed out the importance of finding alternative forms of green energy heating.
“Heating is the sleeping giant of the green energy
revolution,” he said. “Heat accounts for half UK energy
use and half UK carbon emissions. So we simply have to encourage
greater use of renewable equipment such as heat pumps. Housing
Associations are leading the way showing property owners how you
can go green and save money on heating bills. Heat pumps are a real
alternative because their only cost is a small amount of
electricity to run. The energy to heat your property is then
extracted from the air or the ground which costs your nothing and
you are no longer at the mercy of volatile oil and gas
prices.”
