Riverside Home Ownership has appointed Matthew Elsegood as Head of Sales.

He joins from Guinness Trust where he was Head of Sales and Marketing covering as far and wide as Newcastle to Cornwall.

Prior to working in the not-for-profit sector, Matthew had various roles in the private sector including Regional Sales Coordinator at David Wilson Homes and Area Manager at Kingsoak.

Originally from Bedfordshire, Matthew began his career working for a firm of estate agents that were bought out by Alliance & Leicester. He became their youngest branch manager at just 19 years old and later progressed to Corporate Client Manager at the flagship office in Leicester, managing repossessions and relocations.

Although experience of running a village pub and a bistro gave Matthew food for thought, he was always drawn back to housing.

He said: “Riverside Home Ownership exists primarily to help people take their first step onto the property ladder. Buying your first home is one of the most important and exciting times in a person’s life so to be able to actually help somebody achieve that – there is no bigger buzz.”

Initially Matthew will be based primarily in Leicester but will spend one day a week at Riverside Home Ownership’s head office in Liverpool as well as lending support to colleagues in Carlisle and the North East.
