Longhurst Group and Longhurst & Havelok Homes staff at Leverett House in Boston had their cake and ate it, raising a mouth watering £800 for the Macmillan Cancer Support charity.

Staff rolled up their sleeves and got their cake cases out to support this year’s Macmillan Coffee Morning – the world’s biggest coffee morning.

To celebrate, Sue Kirk, the Trustee of Macmillan Cancer Support, will be presented with the £800 cheque from Bob Walder, Longhurst Group Chief Executive, and Mike Hardy, Longhurst & Havelok Homes Managing Director, at a special ceremony at the company’s Head Quarters in Boston on Friday 27th November.

Sue said: “I would like to say a huge thank you to all of the staff that contributed to the coffee morning. Their efforts will make a huge difference to people affected by cancer in our local area.”

Lorna Brown and Tessa Codd organised the event: "We're delighted to support Macmillan. Not only has it been great fun but it also shows how much we all like a bit of cake. In fact we’re already looking forward to supporting next year’s coffee morning.”

One in three people will get cancer but, as treatments improve, more and more people are living with cancer in their daily lives.

Macmillan Cancer Support improves the lives of people affected by cancer by providing practical, medical and financial support and a push for better cancer care.
