Residents and staff at Ribble Valley Homes’ (RVH’s) Littlemoor House, Sheltered Housing Scheme in Sabden have been celebrating winning the Sheltered Housing category in the Lancashire Best Kept Village Competition 2009.
This contest is one of the oldest community events of its type in Britain, attracting more than a hundred entries each year and including not only villages but also categories such as public halls, places of worship, schools and grounds.
Situated at the foot of Pendle Hill, Littlemoor House comprises 28 properties made up of flats and bungalows with communal gardens. This award is testimony to the hard work of the Scheme Manager and residents at Littlemoor and also Barry Clarke the RVH Handyman.
Glenda Pilkington, Scheme Manager who, together with her partner Brian, represented Littlemoor at the recent awards ceremony at Stanley House Hotel in Mellor said: “We are over the moon to receive this award; it means so much to everyone who has worked so hard to create the beautiful gardens and environment that surround Littlemoor House.”
RVH Managing Director, Christine Grimshaw added: “Ribble
Valley Homes, part of Vicinity Group, offers some of the best
sheltered housing accommodation in the area. This type of award
serves to endorse this and underlines the pride that is taken in
their homes by the people who live in them.”
