Youngsters in Sunnybrow had a hauntingly fun time at a Halloween disco thanks to three companies working in the village.
The firms sponsored Sunnbrow Residents’ Association’s disco, providing spooky decorations, wicked prizes and fiendish food for the supernatural party.
Housing management company Dale & Valley Homes, maintenance company Dunelm Property Services and door and window supplier Yorkshire Windows have been working in the village to replace doors and windows in around 200 homes.
Sponsoring the disco is one way the three companies can give something back to the community and thank them for their tolerance while the work has progressed.
Vivien Peterson, customer care advisor for Dunelm Property Services, said: “Dunelm Property Services is currently working in the area replacing doors and windows and staff are really keen to give something back to the area.
“We are a North East Business and value the North East area. Staff from Dale and Valley Homes, Dunelm Property Services, Yorkshire Windows and Sunnybrow Residents Association worked together to provide the Halloween Disco Party.
Prizes were given for the most creative fancy dress costume for different age groups. Hot dogs, burgers and a small buffet were provided for the children and they had a goody bag to take home.”
Work on the doors and windows is now mostly finished and the next phase will be to bring all the homes up to the Decent Homes standard, which includes work on kitchens, bathrooms and heating systems.
