TENANTS TAKING CONTROL OF ANTI-SOCIAL BEHAVIOUR IN MONMOUTHSHIRE

As part of Not in My Neighbourhood Week 2009, the Tenant Participation Advisory Service Wales and Monmouthshire Housing Association have organised a seminar to help make residents aware of the initiatives available to aid them address anti-social behaviour in their own communities.

The FREE Half-day seminar, taking place on Thursday 5th November 2009 at the St. Michaels Centre, Abergavenny, will include talks on home safety for tenants and residents from the local community safety partnership and a presentation from local resident activists, on how to tackle local anti-social behaviour issues.

Not in My Neighbourhood Week is part of the Home Office’s Changing Lives, Making Communities Safer Campaign. The aim of the week is to communicate with local communities and show the work being done to tackle crime, drugs, anti-social behaviour and alcohol misuse in their areas and to get local communities involved.

John Drysdale, Director of TPAS Cymru said “TPAS Cymru is pleased to be involved with the Not in My Neighbourhood event in Abergavenny. He said, “It’s important that residents are aware of and can use initiatives that can help them and their communities to address anti social behaviour. Both TPAS Cymru and Monmouthshire Housing Association have a commitment to ensuring that people are involved in their local communities.”
