Longhurst & Havelok (L&H) Homes are proudly joining forces with partner agencies throughout Boston to give advice and information on how to keep safe as part of Not In My Neighbourhood Week (NIMNW) from Monday 2 to Friday 6 November.

This year marks the third year of the national event, which aims to inform local people of action taking place in their area to tackle crime and anti-social behaviour such as burglary and drug use.

Longhurst & Havelok Homes will be bringing their community vehicle to the Boston Park from 10:00am-3:00pm on Monday 2 November to give advice and information on issues that may be affecting the local neighbourhood such as anti-social behaviour, noise and litter issues. They will also be giving advice to local residents from 10:00am on Tuesday 3 November on Station Road in Kirton.

Jacqui Holland, Longhurst & Havelok Homes Neighbourhood Officer, said: “It is a great opportunity for us to work with our partner agencies to help improve local safety and provide information and opportunities for the public to meet us and discuss any issues that they may have.”

The multi-partnership week will see a wide range of local organisations come together including the police, Fire and Rescue, Lincolnshire County Council’s children’s services, Longhurst & Havelok Homes, Boston Community Safety partnership, Oasis, Boston Mayflower and Waterloo Housing Group.

As well as informing local people of action taking place in their area to tackle crime and anti-social behaviour, NIMNW aims to:

  • Increase awareness among the local community of what the police and local agencies do to tackle crime and anti-social behaviour.
  •  Increase public confidence in the work the police and local agencies are doing to tackle crime and anti-social behaviour and make communities safer.
  • Encourage the public to engage with police and local agencies and play their part in tackling crime and anti-social behaviour.
  • Engage local and regional media and encourage them to support the work you are doing locally.

From 1 October 2009, Havelok Homes and Longhurst Homes joined forces to form Longhurst & Havelok Homes (L&H Homes).
