Members of the Sheltered Housing team at New Progress Housing Association were thrilled to be invited to the 100th birthday celebrations of resident Alys Blackhurst and to share in her very special day.

Alys has lived in Leyland all of her life. She moved into sheltered accommodation over 10 -years ago and is very proud to still be leading an independent lifestyle, with regular visits from her daughter, who lives just down the road.

The centenarian celebrated her big day with a tea party for her family and fellow residents at Wrights Fold sheltered scheme in Leyland.

At the tea party she was presented with a beautiful bouquet of flowers by New Progress’s Head of Housing Support, Sue Whitham and Sheltered Operations Manager, Ann Clark.
