Cultural dress day at customer services Cultural dress day at customer services

Press release: 16 October 2009

Sandwiches, treats, cultural dress, activities for children and fund raising for breast cancer awareness, were on offer during our first National Customer Service Week event, held in our offices at Willow House, Ascham Homes’ Head Office in Walthamstow, North East London.

We promoted our new initiative ‘Open days’, aimed at giving residents the opportunity to look behind the scenes and ask questions about our services.

Staff thinking pink for a day, along with residents’ contributions, meant we raised £100 for Breast Cancer Awareness.

This annual event is run by the Institute of Customer Service, a professional body which leads on customer service performance and professionalism.

Our Director of Operations, Janet Wilson, went back to the floor for the day and answered telephone calls from residents at our Ascham Direct contact centre and welcomed visitors to our Customer Services reception.

Our staff are very proud of the feedback they receive from residents and proudly publish their ‘thank you’ letters on the flat screen monitor for all visitors to see.

Oluwatoyin Adeleye-Abiodun, Customer Services Supervisor said, “residents were able to suggest service improvement and enjoyed sharing food with us and asking questions about our cultural dress. We’re looking forward to next year’s event already!”
