Community projects across Wear Valley will receive more help
thanks to a generous donation to the Better Homes, Better Lives
fund.
The fund, which is administered by housing management company Dale
& Valley Homes, provides small grants to community groups and
projects across the Wear Valley area.
It was launched earlier this year to expand the ways in which the
company could support its customers and the communities in which
they live.
Now partner company Gentoo has added a further £5,000 to the
fund, massively increasing the number of grants it can make.
Dave Cutting, Head of Technical Services at Gentoo, said:
“Gentoo is very happy to support the Better Homes, Better
Lives fund as we are keen to give something back in all parts of
our business.
“We understand the impact volunteers and charity groups have
on some of the areas in which we work, and therefore we see
projects like this as a helping hand in improving the lives of our
customers.”
Gentoo is the contractor which provides repair and maintenance
services to Dale & Valley Homes’ properties.
Dave Sanders, director of resources at Dale & Valley, said:
“Since we launched the Better Homes, Better Lives fund in the
summer it has proved very popular and we have been able to support
a huge range of projects.
“We work very closely with Gentoo and our other contractors
and are delighted that they have chosen to support us in this wider
aspect of our activities.”
