In August, five new members of staff joined Bourne, a subsidiary of Moat, at their Wallington office in Surrey. Colin Tanner joined as community development officer and Tina Russell, Emily Reilly, Maggie Terrey and Bob Staples joined as neighbourhood officers.
Colin joins from the Croydon Business Improvement District where he was town centre operations manager. Colin’s career has mostly been within housing management and he is excited to help residents to understand how services are delivered. Colin says; “Moat have always been recognised as a leading provider of affordable housing and an excellent employer. I am looking forward to getting to know residents and helping to develop communities.”
Tina Russell joins from the Richmond Housing Partnership (RHP) where she was a housing officer. Having worked at RHP when they almost merged with Moat, Tina knew of Moat’s reputation as a good organisation to work for and she was also pleased with the convenient location of the Wallington office. Tina says; “I am looking forward to working with the Wallington team to provide a good level of service to all of our residents.”
Emily Reilly has worked at Moat for three years and her new role is a job share with her existing role as data quality officer within Moat’s corporate development team. Emily’s new role will entail dealing with anti-social behaviour cases, handling arrears management, letting void properties and attending shared ownership completions and site visits. Emily says; “I enjoy doing tenancy sign ups and completions. I think it is really important that everyone has a suitable, high quality home to live in and I like helping to make this happen in my new role.”
Maggie Terrey joins Moat from Home Group Limited where she was a housing officer. Maggie was impressed with the Moat staff she met at interview stage and with the high level of customer service she has witnessed at Moat offices. Maggie says; “I am looking forward to meeting all of the residents I am to work with and to building up a good relationship with my colleagues.”
Bob Staples previously worked for Moat on a temporary basis and is delighted that his role has become permanent. Bob has worked in the housing industry for 19 years and is looking forward to getting to know his new neighbourhood and building good relationships with residents. Bob says; “I have really enjoyed my time at Moat so far and I’m looking forward to continuing to work with the friendly colleagues that I have met. I’ve worked in housing for many years and I still enjoy knowing that I can help make residents feel happy and secure in their homes.”
Bourne is a charitable housing association that manages almost 1,800 homes in South London, Surrey, Sussex, Hampshire and Dorset. Formed in 1965, the association provides high quality personal service for both rented and shared ownership residents. In 2007 Moat welcomed Bourne Housing Society as a new subsidiary.
Bourne managed around 1,800 homes, mainly in South London, Surrey and Sussex, all areas where Moat already has a sizeable presence. Overlapping areas of operation means that both organisations deliver improved housing management services to residents. Bourne and Moat also offer local authority and other partners more options and achieve better value contracts with contractors and suppliers.
