Winning residents, Sanctuary Scotland staff and contractors
Green-fingered residents on a housing estate in Dundee have been rewarded after the results of Sanctuary Scotland’s Beechwood Gardening Competition were revealed.
A number of Beechwood estate’s residents have been tending to their gardens in a bid to scoop the top prize of £100 in B&Q vouchers.
Judging was carried out by Graham Hughes, Dundee City Council’s urban ranger, and Bill Lambie, clerk of works for CD Environmental Design. After much deliberation Richard and Rosalina Shannon of Hazelwood Close have been named as the lucky winners.
Second prize of £50 in B&Q vouchers went to runner-up Mary Barr of Redwood Avenue, while £30 in vouchers was presented to third place residents, Carl and Jill Johnson of Pinewood Gardens.
Prizes were also awarded to Lena Burns of Redwood Avenue, Patrick and Elizabeth Murphy of Hazelwood Close, and Archibald and Jackie Drummond of Cedarwood Drive.
All of the prizes were donated by Sanctuary Scotland contractors WRB Gas, Tayside Decorators and T and N Gilmartin Ltd.
Ann Forbes, Sanctuary Scotland’s housing manager, said:
“This annual event always brings out the best in our
residents and their efforts have once again gone beyond all our
expectations and helped continue to make Beechwood a beautiful
place.”
