Social housing specialist Total Glass has started work on the next phase of extensive PVC-U window and door replacement for Riverside Waterfront Housing having successfully completed an earlier contract after the Liverpool-based housing association was let down by its former supplier.

To date, Total Glass completed over 100 properties throughout the city, including the supply and installation of PVC-U curtain walling, windows and doors at Warwick Court in Toxteth, to keep Riverside’s programme delivery schedule on track. Total’s full partnership service encompasses a range of elements, from design services, surveys and staff training to the supply and installation of sustainable, low-maintenance and energy-efficient windows.

Total’s design expertise particularly assisted in the replacement of old steel Crittall windows at Warwick Court, a 1960s-built block of flats located within a wider conservation area containing a number of listed Victorian properties. Because of this, new PVC-U curtain walling screens with glazed atriums and lean-to roofs required approval by planning and conservation officers. PVC-U casement windows and sliding patio doors were also installed at the 13 dwellings.

“As a result of assisting Riverside with the completion of their existing works, we are delighted to have been selected by their procurement company Fusion 21 for the on-going contract. This will involve the improvement of a further 250 properties over the coming months,” comments Total Glass Director Julian Wetherall.

“Our established and reliable 25-year track record in understanding public sector specifiers’ needs and delivering the ‘Best Value’ solution is recognised by a number of the UK’s major social housing providers with whom we work,” adds Julian. “We’ve proved that we can deliver and we’re a company that’s here to stay.” For more information, contact Total Glass on 0151 549 2339 or visit the website: www.totalglass.com.
