Community Stars Winners
Being a good neighbour is what community is all about.
To Joe Robinson that means helping his elderly neighbours with their garden and turning his hand to fixing or making "just about anything" for them.
Joe, who lives on the Longridge Road estate in Preston, said he was "chuffed to bits" at picking up the Good Neighbour Award at the annual CGA Community Star awards.
This was one of many heart-warming stories featured at the ceremony hosted at Preston North End football club on 3 Sept.
In choosing the shortlist, the judging panel had some tough choices to make with over fifty nominations received, written by groups and individuals from across the city.
Everyone nominated received a certificate in appreciation of their contributions to community empowerment.
There was a further surprise for the winners, videos featuring
the people who nominated them played to the audience, highlighting
to everyone how much they deserved the award.
