More from Knowsley Housing Trust

KHT has successfully ran another Get Started event in conjunction with the Prince’s Trust and Musical Youth. The partnership, which is funded by Superfund, delivered the Get Started with Music programme which engaged 12 young people from Knowsley. The 5 day course included writing and composing of music, recording and producing a CD, locating a suitable venue and delivering a performance for friends and family. At the end of the course, the group organised a showcase in one of Liverpool’s premier live music venues, The Picket, that will be long remembered by those who were present.

Advantage team member Phil McQuaid said: “It was inspiring to see the effort, dedication and most of all talent of these young people and it is amazing what they were able to produce in only 5 days. They were very grateful for the opportunity to work under the expert guidance of Musical Youth and Prince’s Trust and have made many contacts that will help them develop in the future.”

The next Prince’s Trust event is scheduled for 28th September at Liverpool football ground. Places are available for 16-25 year old KHT tenants and young adults from Knowsley both male and female who are not in education, employment or training.
