A public exhibition of design proposals for new shops and homes at Clifton Hatch, Harlow, will be held at the Royal British Legion Club in Latton Common Road on 14 September from 3pm to 7pm.
Moat and Denne Construction have been selected by Harlow Council as preferred partners to develop the site. The exhibition is an opportunity for local people to view and comment on the designs before a planning application is submitted.
The shops will be replaced with new retail units, grouped around the existing oak tree. There will also be 26 new homes, designed by leading architects PRP, for sale and rent.
Councillor Simon Carter, Chairman of the Council's Policy and Resources Committee, says; “This consultation is an important opportunity for local residents to have a say in improving their area. The proposals will provide much needed family homes and brand new retail units helping to regenerate Clifton Hatch. Comments from residents will help develop the designs further before a planning application is submitted.”
Moat’s senior development manager, Jason Amos, says; “There is already an outline planning permission for this site but we have come up with a new design that incorporates fewer apartments and more family houses. We’re convinced that these are the new homes which are most needed in this neighbourhood. We hope that our proposals are popular with local people.”
Resident feedback from the exhibition will inform detailed design work. Local people will be able to see how their comments have been incorporated into designs, in a second exhibition during October.
Moat and Denne Construction are working with Harlow Council and Harlow Renaissance on the regeneration of a number of sites within the town.

Harlow. Regenerating the town is the Council’s top priority.

areas. Earlier this year the Council appointed Moat as the

residents, community groups and other stakeholders with a detailed
planning application expected later in the year.
