MORRISON BOOSTS LEARNING AND
DEVELOPMENT TEAM

Morrison, a leading provider of repairs, maintenance and capital projects to the social housing sector, has appointed Lyn Harper as Director of Learning and Development. The role, which has been newly created, underlines Morrison’s commitment to staff development and training.

In her new role Lyn will be responsible for establishing a learning and development function within Morrison and for the development, delivery and review of learning and development and talent management strategies across the organisation. Lyn will report directly to Sara Robertson Director of People and Organisational Development.

Lyn has over 20 years of experience in developing and leading learning and development strategy, as well as personally delivering training and development programs. During the course of her career Lyn has worked in a number of sectors at both the strategic and operational level, including construction, manufacturing and the public sector.

Lyn joins Morrison from Dubai based Al Naboodah Construction Group, where she was responsible for creating a group training function to lead and direct training and development across the company. Prior to this, Lyn worked for Carillion Building, providing a range of learning and development services and business improvement, including re-engineering the company’s approach to talent management and revitalising the graduate programme framework.

Commenting on her new role Lyn said: “I’m very pleased to be joining Morrison at this challenging but exciting time. I believe it is absolutely critical that we create a robust learning and development function; adopting a joined-up approach to learning, built around the customer and built to last. It's not just about helping our current managers and employees perform better, it is also about developing the next generation capable of keeping Morrison at the top.”
Sara Robertson, Director of People and Organisational Development, added: “I am very pleased to welcome Lyn to the Morrison team. She brings a wealth of experience with her, which will be invaluable in helping us meet our commitment to training and development across the business.”

Lyn has an MSc in Strategic Personnel & Development (specializing in Performance Management), is a Fellow member of Institute of Leadership and Management (ILM) and a Chartered Fellow of Institute of Personnel and Development. Outside of work her interests include gourmet cooking, travel, salsa dancing and golf.
