Southern Housing Group confirmed as affordable housing provider for the Kidbrooke Regeneration project

Southern Housing Group has been confirmed as the official affordable housing provider for the Kidbrooke Regeneration project in Greenwich. The scheme, which will transform the former Ferrier Estate, is a partnership between Greenwich Council, Berkeley Homes, Southern Housing Group, LHA-ASRA and the Homes and Communities Agency (HCA).

Southern Housing Group, one of southern England’s largest housing associations, will deliver 229 of the 456 homes in phase one, contributing to a mix of social and intermediate rent, shared equity and market sale housing.

The HCA London Board, which is chaired by the Mayor, Boris Johnson, recently approved funding of just over £30 million for the first phase of the scheme. This funding comes from HCA London’s National Affordable Housing Programme and complements investment in infrastructure already made by the Agency at Kidbrooke.

Work should start on the new homes by the autumn, and developer Berkeley Homes and partners will be consulting local residents on the second phase soon.
