A Halewood woman made life so unbearable for their neighbours, that the courts decided she should not only be evicted from her home but that she should also be sent to prison.
Tracey McGrath’s constant drunken behaviour meant that residents in Maldon Close were subjected to a daily torrent of abuse. Tracey along with her friends and family played music so loud it could be heard in her garden, became abusive to neighbours and attracted other undesirables to her property.
In December 2008 she was served a 2 year Postponed Possession Order which was broken by Tracey and her family.
After repeated attempts by Knowsley Housing Trust (KHT) to assist her with support programmes which would help her maintain her tenancy, the Trust was left with no alternative but to take further action.
St Helens County Court ordered Tracey McGrath to 28 days in prison and ordered her out of her home in Halewood. They also ordered an Injunction to Tracey McGrath, or any visitors from approaching a key witness.
KHT’s Operational Director Peter Davidson said that alcohol related Anti Social Behaviour will not be tolerated:
“This fantastic result shows the consequences of
persistent bad behaviour and that KHT are willing to do what it
takes to make our neighbourhoods safer for the rest of the
community.”
