Orbit First Step is advising would-be buyers in Worcester to get a move on if they want to purchase an affordable new home in the city’s Diglis Water development as all but one of the original 14 two-bedroom apartments have already been snapped up by discerning buyers keen to set up home in the waterside regeneration area.

As if the stunning location wasn’t appealing enough, the remaining two-bedroom apartment is being offered with a choice of low-cost home-ownership options. Under the New Build HomeBuy scheme, most purchasers raise a mortgage to purchase a minimum 25 per cent share of the property (£35,000) and pay a discounted rent on the remaining share. The added beauty of the scheme is that you have the opportunity to ‘staircase’ - purchasing additional shares in the future, if you wish, until you own the property outright, just as you would when purchasing through a conventional mortgage, with no further rent to pay. It is estimated that this property will be affordable to anyone with an income of £17,000 or more.

For extra added peace of mind, Orbit First Step is also offering free mortgage payment protection which helps you pay your mortgage and rental payments for up to 12 months if you are unable to work due to accident, sickness or involuntary unemployment.

Alternatively, the apartments are also being offered under the Rent to HomeBuy scheme, which enables people to move into the property they want to purchase straight away as a tenant and pay a discounted rent – currently an incredibly competitive £500 per calendar month. While they are renting, they are encouraged to save for a deposit – Orbit First Step will even match the savings made by buyers whilst renting the property – effectively doubling the level of deposit they can put down on the property which they can then buy through the New Build HomeBuy scheme.

Terms and conditions apply.

The remaining apartment includes fitted carpets throughout; a fully fitted kitchen, including a washer/dryer and oven and hob; bathroom with electric shower; and secure parking areas. They are ideally located within a mile of the city centre and directly opposite the brand new PF2 Health Club.

Sales and Marketing Manager, Diane Webster said: “Don’t put it off any longer. If you’d love a life by the water, pick up the phone now and give us a call before it’s too late. We can give you all the information you need about the development and about the finance schemes available to help you purchase your dream home. Whatever your current situation, whether you are a first time buyer, a Key Worker, or need a new home following a relationship breakdown, as long as your household income is less than £60,000 we may be able to help you. ”

If you would like any further information, please call Orbit First Step on 0345 850 2050 or visit www.orbitfirststep.org.uk where you can also find information on other developments in the region.
