Last autumn the government committed to end rough sleeping by 2012. At Homeless Link's annual conference for the homelessness sector, newly appointed Minister responsible for homelessness, Ian Austin MP, will speak to delegates on the progress they have made and what they are focusing on to achieve this goal..

The Mayor of London's Director of Housing, Richard Blakeway, will also address the audience, exploring the role that local government can play in ending rough sleeping. As well as considering possible approaches, he will also identify possible challenges and how they can be overcome.

The conference will also include:
- 17 practical workshops, looking at different methods to prevent and end rough sleeping
- a panel session, discussing how we can prevent repeat homelessness and stop the flow of people onto the streets
- a regional debate, examining two key themes affecting all agencies: local commissioning and the credit crunch
- two award schemes celebrating the homelessness sector.
