5,000 Londoners flock to Housing Options show for affordable homes

Over 5,000 Londoners attended the Housing Options London Affordable New Homes Show held at Wembley on Saturday 20th June. This phenomenal turn out confirms that many Londoners believe now is the right time to buy their first home.

Anyone living or working in London, and earning between £15,000 and £60,000 is elgibile for help buying their first home. Housing Options held the show so that Londoners could meet affordable housing providers and find out more about how they can buy or rent in the city. Solicitors and financial advisors were also on hand to offer free advice.

Bernie Conroy, Director at MHO, HomeBuy Agent for east, north and west London who organised the event, said: "The Housing Options Affordable New Homes Show was a huge success. Over 5,000 first-time buyers in London received advice about how to get on the property ladder, and had a chance to see the range of homes currently available across London. The event gave our developer partners a great opportunity to showcase the new homes they have to offer.

"We’re encouraging anyone who wants help buying their first home to go to www.housingoptions.co.uk to complete an application form and find out more.”

Lilah Semmens, Head of Marketing at L&Q, said: “With a record number of attendees this year the Housing Options London show clearly demonstrates the high demand for affordable housing in the capital. Many attendees spoke about the difficulty of getting on the housing ladder and this is something we seek to address with a variety of home ownership products. Shows such as this provide the opportunity for us to promote the help that is on hand”

Affordable homes built for low cost ownership and rent provide safe, secure, and high quality housing. They are normally available on a part-buy, part-rent or affordable rent basis. Now there are try before you buy products such as Rent to HomeBuy and other low cost rent products such as Intermediate Rent.
