European Neighbours Day had the X-Factor after Eaton Road star helped Knowsley residents to celebrate in style.

Danny Morris of X-Factors Eaton Road was one of the main attractions in town and helped to entertain the crowds along with talented freestylers, food from around Europe, football, games, archery, face painting and jugglers at the Northwood Community Festival at Old Rough Park, Kirkby.
Knowsley Housing Trust (KHT) helped to fund many events over the week including Northwood’s Community Festival at Old Rough Park, Kirkby.

European Neighbours Day was set up in 2003 to enable citizens to get to know their neighbours better and play an active part in their local community. Events take place across Europe and all over the UK.

Not to be outdone, KHT’s Greenwood Close Sheltered Scheme in Prescot crowned a new ‘Rose Queen’ to mark the day.

Rose Williams was the toast of the town as the 81 year old resident was crowned the new ‘Rose Queen of Prescot’.

The crowds came out to watch her procession and after the coronation, she officially launched an afternoon of celebrations showing the rest of Europe how to throw a party.

KHT will continue to support European Neighbours Day which gets bigger and better every year – roll on 2010.
