Congratulations to all those who were successful at the 2009 Participation Awards. This year TPAS Cymru received over 50 nominations from all over Wales. The submissions were of a high standard and they truly captured the attention of the judges, not only in terms of the written material and detailed explanation of projects but for imaginative range of participation projects and initiatives being undertaken in the Principality.
John Drysdale, Director of TPAS Cymru congratultated the award winners and the nominees for the 2009 Participation Awards, stating "The TPAS Cymru Participation Awards are a wonderful opportunity to clebrate and applaud participation sucess across wales. This is the 1st Participation Awards since the development and implementeation of National and Local Tenant Participation Strategies within Wales, with landlords working hard with their tenants to develop better ways of working together. We look forward to the 2010 Participation Awards which will no doubt see a step change in the quality of participation as a result of the development of the strategy work."
Anne Hinchey, Chief Executive of Wales & West Housing Association commented “We are delighted to sponsor the TPAS Cymru Participation Awards and Good Practice Report 2009, which celebrate the hard work and achievements of many individuals and groups of tenants across Wales. The standard of entries was once again extremely high and it is both inspiring and humbling to read about the many grass-roots initiatives which are making a real difference to people’s lives, well-being and their environment.”
