Community Gateway Association (CGA) has signed a partnering agreement with local boiler manufacturer Baxi Group to replace 3000 boilers over the next 18 months. The contract is worth in the region of £2 million.
Representatives from CGA, Baxi Group and residents celebrated the launch of the contract at CGA headquarters Deltic House, West Strand Road, Preston.
Martin Gibbons, Mechanical and Engineering Manager at CGA, explains why the organisation has switched to Baxi Group. “CGA are committed to using local labour and boosting the local economy wherever possible. When the contract came up for renewal, it made sense to talk to Baxi Group, a company that has been established in the Preston area for over 150 years, and employs a number of our residents.
“By 2010, CGA will have spent around £90 million on repairs and modernisation. This includes providing efficient, affordable heating systems to keep our residents warm and comfortable.”
In addition to supplying high efficiency Baxi and Potterton
boilers, manufactured at its Bamber Bridge site, Baxi Group
provides a complete technical, training and service facility. CGA
heating contractors will receive installation and maintenance
training at Baxi Group’s training centre at Warrington.
CGA’s customer service team will also receive extensive
training in handling all enquires about the new boilers.
