Leading disability charity, Papworth Trust, has been awarded for
their commitment to building quality and standards. The Evelyn
Fison development, Stowmarket, has been short-listed for the 2009
LABC East Anglia Building Excellence Awards.
The Local Authority Building Control (LABC) awards recognise the
whole design and build process. The Trust has been short-listed in
three categories: Best Large Housing Site; Best Conversion to
Residential; and Best Social or Affordable Housing.
Papworth Trust partnered with Hill Residential for the development, which consists of eight rented and one shared ownership properties, and a communal area. Each of the properties is available for people with physical disabilities or acquired brain injuries.
Paul McCay, director of operations at Papworth Trust says: “I’m delighted that our development has been recognised in the LABC Awards. It’s a fantastic development providing affordable housing in a great location.”
The winners will be announced at a ceremony on 24 April at the University Arms Hotel, Cambridge.
