The Chartered Institute of Housing, Homeless Link and Broadway, supported by CLG, are working together to design a qualification for all frontline workers in the homelessness sector. You are invited to take part in the consultation on the content and delivery of the qualification by completing a survey.
In the Government's new strategy, “No one left out: communities ending rough sleeping” there is a commitment to supporting the professionalisation of the sector in order to secure better outcomes for people, and enable them to make the changes they need in their lives to leave and sustain a positive life away from the streets. Training and qualifications for frontline homelessness workers are a central tenet in achieving and maintaining high quality services.
To this end, the Chartered Institute of Housing with Homeless Link and Broadway have been tasked with putting together an accredited qualification for frontline staff in the homelessness sector.
This consultation is your opportunity to tell us what is the current picture in terms of training and development for frontline workers and to give us your views on the content and delivery of the qualification. To answer the survey, click here:
The survey closes on 8th April 2009.
A special meeting of Homeless Link's Learning & Skills Forum
will take place on Tuesday April 7th, at 11am to discuss the
qualification. Please contact Kaite Welsh on 0207 373 3400 or email
kaite.welsh@homelesslink.org.uk if you would like to attend.
