Shift happens
Life rarely stands still: all around us, change is happening. But though we have to handle change in our personal and professional lives on an almost daily basis, it doesn’t mean that we always cope well.
Top Tip #1: Don’t assume that just because you’re a manager or a leader, you automatically know how to deal with change.
Sometimes, it would be good to have someone to guide you when things are really difficult, or help you get the most out of the good times, and out of yourself. Personal coaching used to be considered a perk of the rich and successful, aimed at high-flying executives who wanted to become even more successful - but not any more.
Top tip #2: Don’t be afraid to ask for support as part of your continuous professional development.
The need for professional and personal coaching has never been greater, and now anyone can benefit from it, whether you want to excel in your chosen career, unclear about your future direction, or just want to get the most out of your life.
It’s common practice nowadays for companies to help employees, managers, supervisors and executives in their personal development and achievement, using impartial internal or external coaching provision. So who uses a coach? Just about anyone who wants to make a shift in their lives!
Top tip #3: We can all be more effective in our jobs if we take the opportunity to become more self-aware
Good coaching is not about the coach solving your problems - it’s about helping you to find the answers that are already there inside yourself, and this can be an incredibly powerful and positive experience. A good coach can help broaden your view so you can see things more clearly, organise yourself better to deal with obstacles, get the most out of yourself and take back control. Coaching that is based on self-discovery, awareness and choice will be more geared towards improving performance, reaching goals or achieving results.
If you want to tap into your full potential, get better balance in your personal and professional life, are in a rut, or feel that you are at a crossroads, why not consider coaching as a way of helping you to make a real shift in your life?
On both professional and personal levels, coaching can empower you to find your own answers, with support and encouragement along the way as you continue to make important choices. The result: you’ll feel enthused and motivated - you’ll have found your spark and be eager to start changing things for the better.
Sounds good, doesn’t it? It is. As we say, shift happens!
