Our 2 innovative annual award schemes aim to challenge false stereotypes about homeless people and the services they use. The Michael Whippman Award aims to uncover inspiring examples of how service users help to change and improve homelessness services, while the John Laing Charitable Trust Day Centre of the Year Award focuses on the fantastic work that day centres do in their local community. We are delighted to announce that both awards are now open for nominations.
Michael Whippman Service User Involvement Award 2009: First Prize £500
For this year's award we are looking for innovative and practical examples of service user involvement with a multimedia theme. We are asking service users or service user groups, that are working with any form of multimedia, to submit an application. Whether it be a digital photography project, a community blog or group video - we want to hear about it! For more information on how to enter, deadlines for entries and the prizes, please click here.
John Laing Charitable Trust Day Centre of the Year Award 2009
The theme of this year's award is ending rough sleeping. We are looking for entries that demonstrate how day centres, in partnership with their local communities and service users, play a part in ending rough sleeping.

The winners of both awards will be announced at Homeless Link’s Annual Conference on 7th July 2009, with free places to the conference as part of the award.
