More from Orbit First Step

Orbit First Step is encouraging people who are looking to secure a brand new home in Purley to contact them about their last two remaining affordable apartments on Whytecliffe Road South before it is too late.

Part of the Orbit Group, Orbit First Step offers a variety of low-cost housing solutions to help those who have been struggling to get a foot on the property ladder, including first time buyers, Key Workers and those who have found themselves in need of a new home following a relationship breakdown. It is offering the one-bedroom apartments with a choice of options.

They are available through the Intermediate Rent scheme where rent is charged at 20 per cent less than you would expect to pay for a similar home in a similar area if you were renting from a private landlord.

Alternatively, if you would ultimately like to own your property but are currently unable to secure a mortgage because you don’t have a deposit, you could take a stepping stone to home-ownership through the Rent to HomeBuy scheme. This enables people to move into the property they want to purchase straight away as a tenant and again pay a discounted rent – saving 20 per cent against the current market rental rate.

While they are renting, they are encouraged to save for a deposit and Orbit First Step will even match the savings made by buyers whilst renting the property – effectively doubling the level of deposit they can put down on the property which they can later buy through the New Build HomeBuy scheme.

Rental on these apartments, either through Intermediate Rent or Rent to HomeBuy, is currently set at a very competitive £560 per calendar month.

For those who prefer to take their first step into homeownership straight away, the apartments at Whytecliffe Road South can be purchased immediately under the New Build HomeBuy scheme, which enables people to purchase a share of the property. Most purchasers will need to raise a mortgage to purchase their share (prices start from £39,500 for a minimum 25 per cent share), and then pay rent on the remaining share. They can also purchase additional shares in the future, if they wish, until they own the property outright.

Each apartment includes double glazing; a fully fitted kitchen featuring an integrated oven, hob and dishwasher fridge freezer and washer dryer; and a video phone entry system.

The development is in an excellent town centre location within walking distance of Purley Railway Station, with direct links from there to London. Morden tube station (Northern Line) is approximately five miles away. Positioned just behind the main High Street, Whytecliffe Road South has easy access to buses and a variety of shops, restaurants and other amenities.

Karen Coleman, Sales and Marketing Manager at Orbit First Step, said: “It certainly isn’t easy for anyone buying a new property these days, but we are delighted that we are able to offer a range of alternatives to help people get onto the property ladder. If you would like to find out more about the apartments or get full details of the options available, please speak to us and we’ll be more than happy to see if we can help you to step into a brand new home.”

If you would like further information, please call a member of the sales team on 08458 50 20 50 or visit www.orbitfirststep.org.uk where you will also find details of other developments available to purchase or rent under our schemes.
